Frequently asked questions

What happens on the extra full day in the desert?

Day 3 stays around Erg Chebbi with very little driving: a morning visit to Khamlia village, a free afternoon in the dunes for walking and photography, then sunset over the dunes.

What are Khamlia village and Gnawa music?

Khamlia is a village a few kilometers south of Merzouga with sub-Saharan roots. Gnawa music, with drums, iron castanets and call-and-response chanting, is performed there for visitors.

Do your tour rates include hotel or desert camp bookings?

No. Morocco Trip Lines operates strictly on a private transport-only model: our tour rates cover your private licensed vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, and dedicated professional driver-guide. You book your own nights (hotels, riads, and desert camps) directly with properties that match your budget and taste, and your driver-guide drops you off at your accommodation each evening and picks you up the next morning. If you need recommendations for vetted riads or desert camps, we are happy to share our favorites!

Is 4 days better than 3 for this route?

Four days adds Skoura and a full day in the desert, so you spend much less time in the vehicle. Three days suits a faster pace.

How much driving is involved?

About 17 hours in total: roughly 6 hours on Day 1, 4 on Day 2, almost none on Day 3 and 7 on Day 4, with frequent stops.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes. Child seats can be provided, and the dunes and the macaques are always popular with kids.

Do I see both a sunset and a sunrise in the desert?

Yes. You have sunset in the dunes on Day 3 and can watch the sunrise on Day 4 before leaving.

Can the itinerary be customized?

Yes. You can extend stops, add the Ouarzazate film studios or change the departure time. Contact us with your ideas.

How do I choose a desert camp that suits my budget?

Morocco Trip Lines operates strictly on a private transport-only model: we provide your private air-conditioned vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, and dedicated driver-guide, giving you complete freedom to choose camps that suit your personal budget with zero middleman markups. Options range from authentic standard desert bivouacs to comfort and luxury desert camps featuring private en-suite flush bathrooms and hot showers. You can book directly on Booking.com, Airbnb, or directly with the camp. We are always happy to share our curated list of trusted, clean, and welcoming camps in Merzouga and Zagora, and your driver-guide coordinates seamless dune transfers and luggage handling directly with your camp.

I had the chance to discover beautiful landscapes and authentic places thanks to Saida Tours. The organization was impeccable from start to finish: punctuality, comfort, and above all a warm and passionate team. The guide was not only professional but also very attentive, enthusiastically sharing the local history and culture. An experience that is both rewarding and human. I highly recommend to all those who want to live a real moment of discovery 👍🏻
