Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a standard 4-day Merzouga tour?

It goes south through the Draa Valley and Zagora first, then crosses the Anti-Atlas to Merzouga. The standard route goes out and back through the Dades Valley.

What is the drive from Zagora to Merzouga like?

A quiet paved road across the dry, rocky eastern Anti-Atlas, with small oases such as Tazarine and a lunch stop in Alnif, a famous fossil area.

Why go to Zagora first?

You see the Draa Valley, the Anti-Atlas and Erg Chebbi within about 48 hours, then return through the gorges without repeating the outward road.

Do your tour rates include hotel or desert camp bookings?

No. Morocco Trip Lines operates strictly on a private transport-only model: our tour rates cover your private licensed vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, and dedicated professional driver-guide. You book your own nights (hotels, riads, and desert camps) directly with properties that match your budget and taste, and your driver-guide drops you off at your accommodation each evening and picks you up the next morning. If you need recommendations for vetted riads or desert camps, we are happy to share our favorites!

What should I pack?

Light layers for the day, a warm jacket for the desert night, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a small overnight bag.

Can the tour be customized?

Yes. Stop times and the route can be adjusted, and you can add an extra day in the desert. Contact us with your ideas.

How do I choose a desert camp that suits my budget?

Morocco Trip Lines operates strictly on a private transport-only model: we provide your private air-conditioned vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, and dedicated driver-guide, giving you complete freedom to choose camps that suit your personal budget with zero middleman markups. Options range from authentic standard desert bivouacs to comfort and luxury desert camps featuring private en-suite flush bathrooms and hot showers. You can book directly on Booking.com, Airbnb, or directly with the camp. We are always happy to share our curated list of trusted, clean, and welcoming camps in Merzouga and Zagora, and your driver-guide coordinates seamless dune transfers and luggage handling directly with your camp.

I had the chance to discover beautiful landscapes and authentic places thanks to Saida Tours. The organization was impeccable from start to finish: punctuality, comfort, and above all a warm and passionate team. The guide was not only professional but also very attentive, enthusiastically sharing the local history and culture. An experience that is both rewarding and human. I highly recommend to all those who want to live a real moment of discovery 👍🏻
