This private 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes crosses Morocco without a single kilometer of backtracking. Accommodation is not included, so you choose where you stay each night.

On day three, instead of driving back the way you came, you head north along the palm-lined Ziz Valley, stop in Midelt, look out for Barbary macaques in the cedar forests near Azrou and stop for coffee in alpine-style Ifrane before reaching Fes in the late afternoon. It is the ideal route if you are flying into Marrakech and out of Fes, or visiting both imperial cities on one trip.

You travel in your own vehicle with your own driver-guide, so the pace and stops are yours.

Roughly 1,000 km over three days, with driving times of about 6 to 7, 4 to 5 and 8 hours including stops.

Can I do the tour from Fes to Marrakech instead?

Yes. The same route runs in reverse, with the Middle Atlas and Ziz Valley on day one and the High Atlas on the final day.

Do your tour rates include hotel or desert camp bookings?

No. Morocco Trip Lines operates strictly on a private transport-only model: our tour rates cover your private licensed vehicle, fuel, highway tolls, and dedicated professional driver-guide. You book your own nights (hotels, riads, and desert camps) directly with properties that match your budget and taste, and your driver-guide drops you off at your accommodation each evening and picks you up the next morning. If you need recommendations for vetted riads or desert camps, we are happy to share our favorites!

Where will I be dropped off in Fes?

At your hotel or riad, or at the nearest car-accessible point if your riad is inside the car-free medina. Your riad can send someone to meet you there.

What happens to my luggage?

It travels with you in the vehicle during the day. Take what you need into your accommodation each night.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes. Children love the dunes and the macaques in the cedar forest. For younger kids, consider adding a fourth day to shorten the drives.

I had the chance to discover beautiful landscapes and authentic places thanks to Saida Tours. The organization was impeccable from start to finish: punctuality, comfort, and above all a warm and passionate team. The guide was not only professional but also very attentive, enthusiastically sharing the local history and culture. An experience that is both rewarding and human. I highly recommend to all those who want to live a real moment of discovery 👍🏻
